Trim away the edges of an overgrown lawn without the tangles of a power cord or damaging the environment with exhaust fumes and oil leaks with this cordless string trimmer from renown yard and hardware pros Black & Decker. Ideal for a small yard or quick job, a 12-volt rechargeable battery powers the trimmer at a rate of 8500 revolves per minute. The lightweight trimmer also is easy to maneuver while reducing the back stress associated with heavier trimmers and push mowers.

Black & Decker's cordless trimmer uses a .065-inch-diameter cutting line rather than a sharp blade to hack away overgrown grass with enhanced safety. The trimmer cuts an 8-inch breadth for fine pruning and includes a feed system bump to permit the line to move cleanly. To prevent unintentional start up, the trimmer includes an automatic lock-off switch. The trimmer's charger may be wall mounted for convenient trimmer storage while simultaneously recharging. The trimmer should be charged for 24 hours prior to initial use and should recharged regularly. Simple two-step assembly is required. Black & Decker offers a limited two-year warranty in the event of defective parts or construction. The trimmer weighs 6.5 pounds assembled. --Jessica Reuling

 "Good value" 2009-08-15

This is the second one we purchased. We wanted two because the battery power doesn't last long enough to edge the entire yard. Other than that- it is a great edger.

"Trimmer and no electric cord." 2009-07-10
By Kobedude (Los Angeles, CA)
What I like about this trimmer is I can trim the lawn without putting an electric cord out. This way I do it anytime I want. I keep it plugged in all the time. It works best with the supplied string rolls. When I wrap the string myself, it doesn't come out right and keeps stopping.

"Pretty good item.....great for the price" 2008-07-23
By J. Weed
Item works very well and one charge of the battery lasts a relatively long time. I had to remove the guard in order to have more than 2.5" of string actually cutting at once.

"Black & Decker cordless electric stringer trimmer" 2008-07-08
By I. E. Wagoner (midwest Illinois)
I am not sure how to answer this. Do not know if it is my problem or

the Stringers. Have trouble with the string breaking. Glad it is easy

to reload. Is light weight and easy to use for the most.

"Great tool. Quick shipping. Low price." 2007-09-21
By Denise Ryan (Indianapolis, IN)
Paid considerably less than I would have in a store. It was packed well for shipping. Shipping was quick. Trimmer is easy to put together and even erasier to use. It's light weight to handle but effective at removing overgrowth.

 "great deal" 2009-08-08
By B. Zaagman (Jenison, Mi USA)
I am very happy with my Toro weed trimmer. I looked into replacing the battery in my old one but I got this trimmer from amazon cheaper than a new battery. Little slow on delivery but acceptable.

 "for little jobs......." 2009-07-29
By diane kay
I purchased the toro weed eater...its ok for little jobs, but it certainly doesnt do the bigger, more lengthier jobs.. I would recommend getting this one if you only have grass that is out of place, or thin weeds, but for the thicker, more hardier weeds, get a bigger, gas powered kind. I got teed off numerous times as the spool wound itself into a tangle and I had to stop, open the damn thing and fix it,and the battery doesnt last very long either..Save your sheckles and get a more powerful weed eater, or hire your neighbor for bigger jobs.

 "Works" 2009-07-19
By Teck Kim Khoo (Des Moines, IA)
We wanted a starter trimmer; this fit the bill. It was cheap, wasn't too complicated, and did its job. Perhaps a big heavy but small and not bulky. Contrary to what others thought, the battery lasted long enough for 2-3 mowing cycles (we trim only around the edge of our rock landscaping and deck, so probably wasn't much). I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

I love my Toro Electric Trimmer. It is lightweight, so doesn't wear me out carrying it around, and it gets the job done!

 "A good cordless trimmer." 2009-06-27
By C. Foltz (Milan, Ohio)
The Toro weed trimmer is a nice light weight trimmer. The battery holds a very good charge, lasting plenty of time. The only negative that I can find, so far, is the trength of the line seems to be week for stronger weeds but for light grass it works well. Well worth the money.
