There are lighter and more heavy-duty trimmers, but for the price you can't go wrong especially if you have a small area to trim. Goes thru line pretty quickly, might try a slight larger gauge when I run out. If you can handle dragging the electrical cord and are looking for an inexpensive trimmer I think this is a good buy.

I've had a short honeymoon with this product. The plastic shield broke during the second time I used it and it is too costly to ship the trimmer back to the manufacturer. IMO Amazon should contact the vendor on behalf of their customers arrange warranty replacements. I'm certain that everyone who purchased this product shared the exact same defect. Not a good experience at all!

The best words to use about this weed eater that it is a defective plastic machine. Within the first 15 minutes of use, the plastic shield broke. The tap and go head did not work. In other words, the spool line would not feed new line. Every time the line broke, the head had to be pulled out and the line had to be manually fed through the eyelet. Do not waste your time ordering a product that will not last. The 2 year warranty will never be honored since it will die within a few uses and the return shipping fee to the manufacturer will exceed the original purchase price. This product is a plastic disaster. The only metal in the machine is the pole and the spring.
