 "Gets It Done" 2009-08-09
By Rangered (Chicago, IL USA)
This trimmer works as advertised for a very reasonable price. The automatic feeder doesn't "overeat" the trimmer line and the cut is just fine. Would give it 5 stars if they could have made it a little quieter.....not a complaint, just an observation. Will definitely consider buying another when this one wears out.

This just happens to be one of those items that has to be "experienced" to be fully appreciated! It does the job - and, boy(!), does it do it well! It's lightweight, powerful, and extremely effective.

 "Wanted a cordless - !!" 2009-07-07
By Yvonne Graf (Hastings, MN USA)
I wanted a cordless trimmer, and I did do a search on Amazon "cordless trimmer" and this one came up. It had good reviews and no one mentioned that it was not cordless. I did read through the description and it was not noticeably noted that it was a corded trimmer. I was a bit upset when I got it and found it was not cordless. I used it anyway and it seems like a decent trimmer, but the line ran out within a few minutes of using it so if you do buy it, buy an extra roll of string. I have since bought a cordless one of the same make at Wal-Mart. Since I only used it the one time I can't give the trimmer a great rating, but the cordless one of the same model "Weed Eater" seems like a good weed eater, but jams a little too much. It's lightweight and does a good job otherwise. It did say when I got it to let it charge for 20 hours, but it came with enough charge to do some of my trimming. It comes with a nice charger that you can put on your wall and store small tools in if you'd like. If you can put up with the cord, then get the corded one since it's a good trimmer half the price of the cordless one, but if you hate cords like me, get the corded one. Worth it!! This did arrive quickly from manufacturer.

 "Weed Eater String Trimmer" 2009-07-04
By Timothy J. Strong (Safety Harbor, FL USA)
I have had other weed trimmers, but this one is by far the best. It is very powerful, but easy to use. I have a medium sized yard, and I've used it 4 times so far. The only thing that I noticed that I didn't like, was that I plugged it in, and accidentally had my finger on the trigger. It should have a safety switch that must be depressed at the same time as the main trigger. Other than that, it is a good machine.

 "hate the reloading" 2009-07-04
By S. Nelson (Honolulu, Hi)
This is the 3rd Weedeater brand string trimmer I've owned. In the past I've always been able to load my own line onto a spare spool and change as needed while working. Not so this model, unless you want to buy a completely new spool for every line reload. The design of the model leaves no doubt in my mind that the manufacturer deliberately made it more difficult than it needs to be for the do-it-yourselfers and without doubt seems to be designed to encourage the user to buy pre-loaded spools rather than loading your own. Seems like an MBA somewhere decided they could do the same with replacement line as the computer printer manufacturers have done with the ink cartridges.

I sure wish I would've researched more thoroughly. And I'm equally disappointed with Weedeater, a brand that I've trusted for many years. Not so going into the future. In fact, I'll probably hand cut before I'll buy another of their products.

I would add that the owners manual clearly shows the old style spool when demonstrating how to load line. I defy someone from Weedeater to load line into the spool in a reasonable period of time. If they can, I will retract this review with complete humbleness.
